TCO Comparative
Professionals know it full well: only the TCO (1) matters when comparing two vehicles. The TCO of electric vehicles remains largely unfavourable despite the recent evolution of batteries (+30% on average).
In the case of the Tilter, it has to be recognised that there is no strictly true competitor with a petrol engine: the closest references are three-wheel scooters and four-wheel compact urban cars.
In the table below taken from the Ademe (Environment and Energy Mastering Agency), the Tilter is compared to these two references.
| Compact petrol car | 3-wheel scooter >400cc | Tilter |
| Annual energy spending | 765 € | 263 € | 65 € |
| Maintenance | 960 € | 600 € | 460 € |
| Other | 880 € | 650 € | 662 € |
| Annual cost | 2 605 € | 1 513 € | 1 187 € |
| Monthly cost | 217 € | 126 € | 99 € |
| Cost per kilometre travelled | 0,26 € | 0,15 € | 0,12 € |
(1) Total Cost of Ownership
(2) Excluding government bonuses and including batteries
In the end, the Tilter very logically positions itself between these two references but it does not in any case represent a substantial additional cost.
